Kajari Teej 2021: Know When is Kajari Teej, its Importance and Pooja Vidhi

Like Hariyali Teej, Kajari Teej is also considered to be a major festival for married women. Married women observe this fast for the long life of their husbands.

The festival of Kajari Teej is celebrated in Bhadrapada on the tritiya of Krishna paksha. Kajari Teej is also known as Kajali Teej. In many places it is also known as Old Teej or Saturi Teej. Kajari Teej will be celebrated tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday 25 August.

Auspicious Occasion of Kajari Teej 

Tritiya Begins – 24th August from 04.07pm 

Tritiya concludes – 25th August at 04.21 pm

Kajari Teej Puja Vidhi 

On this day, suhagan women fast for the long life and happiness and prosperity of the husband. While virgin girls observe this fast to get a good groom. On this day, first offer water, roli and rice to neemdi mata and then apply mehndi and roli. Offer mehndi, kajal and clothes to Neemdi Mata after offering moli. Then offer fruits and dakshina and tie the thread around the puja urn after applying roli. Light a big ghee lamp at the place of worship and chant the mantras of Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva. After finishing the puja, donate suhag items to a married woman and seek her blessings.

Importance of Kajari Teej 

Like Hariyali Teej, Hartalika Teej, Kajari Teej is also considered to be the main festival for married women. Married women perform this fast for the longlife and happiness and prosperity of the husband. It is believed that it was on this day that Mother Parvati attained Lord Shiva with her rigorous penance. Lord Shiva and Parvati should be worshipped jointly on this day. This gives a good groom to virgin girls and blesses the suhaginis with ever-fortunateness.
