Kia Sonet Facelift: Which Variant Should You Choose? Bookings Open

Here, we have briefly discussed the variant wise features of the newly launch sub-compact SUV, the Kia Sonet Facelift. Check out which one should you choose.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Kia launched one of the most awaited sub-compact SUVs, the Kia Sonet Facelift on December 14 this month. Earlier this year, the brand launched the popular Kia Seltos Facelift in the subcontinent which received a great deal of attention from the customers and now Kia Sonet has arrived with similar upgrades. The new Sonet has received some major updates in its interiors and exteriors. If you are planning to buy the all-new Sonet Facelift, check out the variant-wise features of the new compact SUV below.

Kia Sonet: Upgrades

The 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift comes with several notable upgrades which comprise an all-new front fascia that now features a new Grille, new DRL and LED headlight setup, alloy wheels, a redesigned bumper, three new Alloy wheel designs to choose from. The compact SUV also gets LED tail lights and a connected LED bar at the rear side which looks similar to the Seltos facelift. More importantly, the Kia Sonet facelift gets some segment’s first features such as ADAS technology. Additionally, the car comes with six airbags as a standard feature across all trims.

Kia Sonet Facelift Variants

Kia has launched the all-new Sonet facelift in 7 variants which include both diesel and petrol powertrain variants. The compact SUV has 6 engine and transmission options across all trims. However, the standard HTE variant of the sub-4 metre SUV lacks some of the major features advertised by Kia Motors. The base HTE trim lacks LED headlights as it features Halogen lamps and it comes with smaller alloy wheels than the higher trims which are 15-inch wheels. The standard models also lack ventilated and powered driver seats and a bigger 10.2-inch display as it comes with a smaller 4.2-inch infotainment screen

If we go higher for the HTK and HTK+ variants on offer, they get most of the updates received by the sub-compact SUV. The top-end models HTX and HTX+ differentiate with their cosmetic make-up inside and out crown jewelled LED headlamps and dual-tone interiors. Going to the top, Kia also offers GTX+ and X-Line variants of the sub-compact SUV which are the highest-priced variants of the SUV and ADAS technology remains the USP of X-Line trim.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Powertrain

The Facelifted Kia Sonet gets the same 1.2-litre MPi engine as the standard model which generates a maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 115 Nm. The powerhouse comes mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also gets another 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of generating the maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 172 Nm, this powertrain comes with the 6iMT and 7DCT transmission options. The third powertrain on the option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out the maximum power of 116 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm coupled with 6iMT and 6AT transmission options.
