Mahindra Bolero

Bolero Electric: Previous year, Mahindra unveiled its forthcoming electric SUVs which included XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. In coming years, Mahindra will offer several electric vehicles in its lineup to chooose from. At the global event in South Africa, Mahindra has confirmed that it will be electrifying all its existing Internal Combustion Electric Vehicles SUVs.

A positive thing about the news is that electrification of the present Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles will not be an unusual or new project to the manufacturer. The all new electric lineup of the company will be based on company’s new INGLO Platform. Although, the company is expected to change the design language of vehicles to some extent. If we exclude the signature features of these SUVs, everything including the chassis will be new. The all new electrified lineup of the SUVs will be introduced in the market with a new name.

Mahindra Electrified SUVs: Powertrains

Forthcoming Thar.e, Scorpio.e and Bolero.e, powertrain can come with single or dual-motor setup. The company will source powertrains from Volkswagen and Valeo. As it was revealed by the company at the ongoing global conference in South Africa, the company will probably offer three powertrain options in total.

In the front motor setup sourced from Vokswagen, the vehicles will produce the maximum power output of 110 PS and a peak torque of 135 Nm. In rear motor setup from VW, power and torque will be 285 PS and 535 Nm respectively. In rear motor setup provided by Valeo, the maximum power output will be 231 PS with a peak torque of 380 Nm. Customers will be able to choose from this wide range of variants in these electrified SUVs.

The Prices of these electrified SUVs will vary acccording to the specifications. The major parameter on which the price will vary is the battery packs of the vehicles, we have no information about the battery packs of these SUVs yet, other key specs such as range and launch timelines is also not released by the manufacturer yet. We expect that the next elctric offering by Mahindra will be XUV e8., said to be an electric avatar of XUV 700 which was also spotted testing on roads sometime ago.
