Mahindra Thar.e: An electric Thar teaser has been issued by Mahindra & Mahindra. On August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa, a concept version of it with the moniker Thar.e will make its debut. The firm will also present a global tractor platform and a pick-up truck prototype at the event, which Mahindra is holding under the banner of “Futurescape.”

About the Thar.e, not much is currently known. However, it is anticipated that Mahindra will either modify Thar’s current base to make room for batteries and electric engines. Alternatively, they might build the Thar.e on a brand-new platform. Mahindra already has an electric platform known as INGLO that will serve as the foundation for its next electric SUV.
Expected powertrain details
It makes sense for Mahindra to outfit the electric Thar with a dual-motor arrangement, with one motor on the front axle and the other on the back axle, given that the Thar is an off-roader and comes with 4-wheel drive. The nicest thing, though, would be if a true quad-motor arrangement turned out to be true. This implies that each wheel will have its own electric motor to independently manage torque and traction during off-roading.
