New Traffic Rules: You can get a Rs.2000 challan even when you are wearing a helmet, learn about the updated rule here

New Traffic Rules: Even if you’re wearing a helmet, a challan of Rs 2000 can still be deducted under the new traffic rules. We will tell you how this could happen today. Under the Actual Motor Vehicle Act, if you do not wear a helmet strip while riding a motorcycle or scooter, your challan of Rs 1000 as per rule 194D MVA will be deducted, and if you’re wearing a damaged helmet (without BIS), your challan of Rs 1000 as per rule 194D MVA will be deducted.

Invoice of more than 20,000 will be Charged

Aside from that, as per the new Motor Vehicle Act, overloading the vehicle may result in a Rs 20000 fine. In addition, an extra fine of Rs 2000 per tonne will be levied for doing so. This has happened in the past as well, when cases of deducting challans in the thousands have come to light.

How to know if an invoice has been charged or not?

Navigate to the website, https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in. Choose the Check Challan Status option. You will have the option of entering your Challan Number, Vehicle Number, or Driving License Number (DL). Select the Vehicle Number option. Fill in the requested information and click ‘Get Detail.’ The challan status will now be displayed.

How to fill up a traffic challan online?

Visit https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/. Fill in the challan’s required details and captcha, then click Get Details. A new page will open, displaying the challan’s details. Locate the challan you wish to pay. The choice of online payment will appear alongside the challan; click on it. Fill out the payment information. Confirm your payment. Your online challan has now been completed.
