Amarinder Singh announces alliance with BJP in Punjab elections

Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has announced an alliance with the BJP in the Punjab elections. Amarinder Singh announced this after meeting Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday. When asked about the distribution of seats, he said that it will be done on the basis of the chances of winning. BJP, Amarinder party and another party will have an alliance for the Punjab Assembly elections.

This time the contest is going to be interesting in the Punjab Assembly Election 2022. Apart from this alliance, the alliance of Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and Akali Ten-BSP is also in the fray.

The former Chief Minister said that talks were going on between our two parties for a long time. We will support BJP candidates in Punjab Assembly elections. They will support our candidates. However, he did not give any information on which party will contest which seat.

Significantly, after the return of agricultural laws, the closeness between Amarinder Singh and BJP had increased. Amarinder Singh had also met Home Minister Amit Shah earlier. Elections are to be held in Punjab between February and March next year along with states like UP, Uttarakhand. However, all the parties have started preparations in full swing from now on.

Captain Amarinder Singh is yet to gather strength, his eyes will be on those leaders who can come to his side if he does not get a ticket from the Congress.

The third party in the alliance is the party of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. It is believed that BJP can contest at least 70 seats, it will be in the role of senior partner in the alliance. While Amarinder’s Punjab Lok Congress can field candidates on 35 to 40 seats. The rest of the seats can go to Dhindsa’s party.

It is worth noting that after being removed from the post of Chief Minister in Punjab, Amarinder Singh had broken his 40-year-old ties with the Congress. Amarinder Singh had said that he was removed from the post of Chief Minister by humiliating him badly.
