The Aam Aadmi Party, which registered an unexpected victory in Punjab, has made a big charge on the BJP. It has been said that BJP has run Operation Lotus in Punjab and MLAs have been offered up to Rs 25 crore. On Tuesday, AAP’s Punjab unit chief Harpal Cheema made a press conference and claimed that BJP has offered Rs 25 crore to many MLAs. Now the reaction of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on these claims has also come to the fore.
He has warned BJP that after Delhi, these people have now reached Punjab to buy our MLA. From where are they getting so many thousands of crores of rupees? These people should understand that we are not Congress, it is not for anyone to buy us. This is a very serious issue for the country and democracy, the way they are breaking the elected governments one by one. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also given a big statement on this whole controversy. It has been emphasized that the MLAs of Punjab are never going to cheat.
They say that we Punjabis are loyal to our soil. The intoxication of power is riding on the BJP. If people do not vote, they choose the way of buying MLAs. But I want to tell BJP – Sikandar was also stopped by Punjabis. I have faith in my MLAs that they will remain loyal to their land and Punjab. On Tuesday, Harpal Singh Cheema had made several allegations against the BJP one after the other.
He had said that an offer of ₹ 25 crore is also being given to every MLA. To break the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP has kept a budget of Rs 1375 crore, which has been collected from black money. For the last one week, BJP has tried and lured 7 to 10 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs to join BJP directly or through any means. Earlier BJP has done the same in Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh and now AAP MLAs are being targeted in Punjab also.
For now, in view of the situation, AAP MLAs have been summoned to Delhi. All these are going to have a meeting with Arvind Kejriwal.
By the way, the Aam Aadmi Party had made a similar claim about Delhi before Punjab. When the CBI investigation into the liquor scam was going on, the AAP government claimed that the BJP had tried to buy their MLAs. It was even said that Manish Sisodia has been given the lure of CM post. BJP definitely called all the allegations baseless but the Aam Aadmi Party had gone to the CBI office regarding that issue.
