Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has got a clean chit on the allegations of illegal mining. After getting a clean chit from the Ropar administration, Channi on Saturday slammed Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, calling him a liar. He said that Kejriwal is a liar and tried to level many allegations against him.
Charanjit Channi said, 'Arvind Kejriwal is a liar. They tried to level many allegations against me. But none of the allegations were true. He also complained against me to the Governor, after which he ordered an inquiry.' Ropar district administration and police gave clean chit to Congress CM candidate Channi on charges of illegal mining in Chamkaur Sahib assembly constituency.
Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had hit out at his Punjab counterpart Charanjit Singh Channi for illegal sand mining, saying how can he expect a better future for Punjab. He had said that Raghav Chadha had told how illegal sand mining is being done in Chamkaur Sahib, the assembly constituency of Channi.
Kejriwal said, 'Despite this being disclosed, the Chief Minister did not take any action and instead tried to defend it. It is clear that the Chief Minister and his family are involved in illegal sand mining. A person whose family is involved in illegal mining. What can you expect from him for the future of Punjab.'
He says, 'We have been continuously saying that many people in his cabinet are involved in illegal sand mining and Channi sahib himself is giving them protection.'
