Voting for the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly was held in three phases, now it is the turn of the Assam Vidhan Sabha Chunav Results. 946 candidates are in the fray in Assam. Almost all the exit polls in Assam are in favor of the formation of the BJP government.

The BJP-led coalition includes the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and the United People’s Party Liberals (UPPL). Of the total 126 seats in the state, BJP is contesting 93, AGP 29 and UPPL 11 seats.

While incumbent Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state Finance and Health Minister and BJP’s star campaigner Himanta Biswa Sarma are leading from Majauli and Jalukbari constituenies, incarcerated anti-CAA activist Akhil Gogoi is leading in Sibsagar seat, suggests initial trends of Assam assembly election results.

The voting for the Assam Assembly elections, which was held in three phases — March 27, April 1, and April 6, was concluded on April 6 with an impressive turnout of 82.04%.

In the last elections 2016 assembly elections of 2016, at that time BJP out of total 126 seats, 60 to Congress, 26 to All India United Democratic Front, 14 to Assam Gana Parishad, 12 to Bodoland People’s Front and Independents. Had won one seat.
