Congress Announces First List Of 124 Candidates For Karnataka Assembly Election

Congress has released the first list of 124 candidates for the Karnataka Assembly elections. State President DK Shivakumar will contest from Kanakapura. Whereas former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been given ticket from Varuna. Siddaramaiah got ticket from his son’s seat, while he wanted to contest from Kolar Constituency.

The Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for the Karnataka Assembly elections

According to media reports, the Election Commission may announce the schedule of assembly elections in the state on Sunday or early next week. Soon after the announcement of the election schedule, the model code of conduct will come into force in the entire state.

When will the term of the assembly end

The term of the current assembly of Karnataka will end on May 24. By then the commission will have to complete the election process to elect the 224-seat assembly.

According to the Deccan Herald report, the Election Commission and the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka have almost completed all the necessary preparations for the announcement of the schedule for the assembly elections in the state.
