DU to send notice to Rahul Gandhi cautioning him against ‘unauthorised’ visit

Delhi University (DU) will issue a notice to Rahul Gandhi for visiting the campus without informing. A senior officer gave information about this. Registrar Vikas Gupta said that the notice will be sent on Tuesday or Wednesday. He said the university would convey to the leader that such visits put the safety of students at risk and that proper protocol needs to be followed for any such interaction.

Rahul Gandhi had visited the post graduation hostel of the university on Friday. Here he interacted with some students and also had food with them. Officials say that it was an unauthorized visit. When Rahul Gandhi went inside, the students were having lunch. We cannot tolerate this on our campus. He said that a notice will be sent to Rahul Gandhi on behalf of the campus. It will be clearly told in the notice that they should not do such act again.

NSUI’s allegation

Meanwhile, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, has alleged that there was pressure on the administration to act against Rahul Gandhi. At the same time, the registrar denied the allegation and said, ‘There is no such pressure. He said that it is a matter of discipline. He said that the university authorities would take necessary steps to avoid such incidents of intrusion and ensure that it does not happen again in future.’
