Former MP Meena Singh Resigns From JD(U)

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, suffered a significant setback on Friday when Meena Singh, a former JD(U) MP, announced her resignation.

Speaking during a news conference at the Maurya Hotel in Patna, Singh stated that she did not wish to leave the JD(U), but she was disturbed by the announcement of Tejashwi Yadav as Nitish Kumar’s replacement.

Meena Singh claimed that even in 2014, when many of his supporters left him, she remained by his side. She also claimed that in 2015, when a grand alliance was formed in Bihar, the general public was unconcerned due to the strength of the party leadership. Nonetheless, Singh noted that the current circumstance is new and terrifying.

Meena Singh attacked the ally government in Bihar, claiming that since it took office, the state’s crime rate has risen. Officers are being prevented from prosecuting the culprits, who are getting away with it. She added that it appears that “Jungle Raj” is returning to Bihar and that Nitish Kumar is not even alarmed.

Irrespective current situation, the former JD(U) MP claimed that the saddest time occurred when Nitish Kumar named deputy CM Tejashwi as his successor, which is when she became distraught.

Meena Singh stated that she will decide on her next line of action after consulting with other supporters and keeping the interests of the Bihar population in mind.

It should be noted that on Friday, a number of prominent leaders joined Meena Singh in leaving the JD(Uprimary )’s membership.

Notably, Meena Singh was elected to the House of Representatives in 2009 after defeating a JD(U) opponent for the Arrah Lok Sabha constituency.

Rajkumar Singh, who won that seat in the 2014 elections, defeated her and took it. Ajit Singh, Meena Singh’s late spouse, was a member of parliament for the Bikramganj Lok Sabha seat.
