Gorakhpur: CM Yogi laid the foundation stone of Sainik School

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Sainik Schools will be opened in all the Mandal Headquarters (Commissionary) of the state. In this budget, the Central Government has proposed to open 100 new Sainik Schools in the country. Taking this chain forward, the state government is working expeditiously on the plan to open Sainik Schools in every commissionerate.

On Friday, the Chief Minister along with Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma laid the foundation stone of the fifth Sainik School of the state by performing Bhoomi Pujan in Gorakhpur Fertilizer Factory premises amidst Vedic chants. He said that the Sainik School going to be built in Gorakhpur is an effort to provide the best education along with military training to the students of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister announced that the government would also open a big center for skill development in the fertilizer factory complex of Gorakhpur. Those who get training here will be able to get employment on better terms in the country and anywhere in the world.

The Chief Minister said that Sainik School is a great achievement. Students studying here will get an opportunity to advance in many areas of the country, serve in high positions. State-of-the-art facilities will be available here. The Chief Minister said that Sainik Schools have their own history. The first Sainik School in the state was established in 1960 by the then Chief Minister Dr. Sampoornanand.

Captain Manoj Pandey, the Param Vir Chakra winner, who played an important role in the Kargil victory, also received training from Sainik School. He said that when the BJP government came to UP in 2017, Lucknow Sainik School was renamed after martyr Captain Manoj Pandey.
