Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani fainted on stage while addressing a rally for the upcoming civic elections in Nizampura area of Vadodara on Sunday after which he was rushed to Ahmedabad and hospitalized.
BJP leaders gave this information. Rupani (64) was given first aid on stage. Later he himself appeared to descend the stage stairs. The Chief Minister was then flown from Vadodara to Ahmedabad in a helicopter and admitted to UN Mehta Hospital.

This was Rupani’s third political rally during the day in Vadodara. He was told that he had become dizzy during this period. Doctors were quoted in media reports as saying that their blood pressure was reduced due to stress. He was brought to Ahmedabad from there, where his medical test would be done in the hospital.
Dr RK Patel, Director, UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad told reporters late on Sunday night, “His (Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani’s) condition is stable. All his medical check-up reports including EGC and CT Scan are normal. There is nothing to worry about. He will be kept at the hospital for 24 hours just for observation,”
Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel, however, told reporters on Sunday night that “CM Vijay Rupani fainted on stage while addressing an election rally in Vadodara. He was brought to Ahmedabad and admitted to UN Mehta hospital for a medical check-up.”
