Himachal Pradesh: Priyanka Gandhi to Launch a Massive Rally to Kickstart Election Campaign in Solan

Himachal Pradesh: On October 14, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the Congress, will launch the election campaign in Himachal Pradesh, which is governed by the BJP. For the Solan election, she’ll probably conduct a sizable gathering at Thodo Maidan. The event was postponed due to inclement weather from its original October 10 date.
While Rahul Gandhi leads the mammoth Bharat Jodo Yatra across the nation, Priyanka is holding down the fort for the Congress campaign in the state. Congress, meanwhile, appears to be optimistic about the message that Priyanka’s campaign will convey.

Priyanka Gandhi’s second home is Himachal Pradesh, according to AICC secretary Raghubir Singh Bali. She visits us every three months or so. Her presence will infuse the workforce with energy and spirit and will positively impact the entire state.
The Election Commission will likely declare the dates for the November Himachal Pradesh assembly elections later this month. However, because both Priyanka Gandhi and PM Modi will be speaking at rallies at the same time, the political climate in the state will heat up.

Congress wants to retake power

Notably, this is the first election for the Congress in the state without Virbhadra Singh, who served as the fourth Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for six terms and 21 years. Veterans in the state have been seen by the party to defect to the BJP. Harsh Mahajan, the current functioning president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, recently defected to the BJP. Mahajan’s departure is significant because he contributed significantly to the party’s organisation at the grassroots for more than ten years.

Ram Lal Thakur, a five-term lawmaker, was the other notable politician to leave the party before Mahajan. Although Pratibha Singh, Virbhadra Singh’s widow, has been president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) since April, the state is clearly experiencing a leadership crisis.
Despite the setbacks, Congress is aiming to regain the initiative given the state’s history of alternative governments since 1985.
According to AICC spokesman Alka Lamba, the three main themes in the upcoming Assembly elections would be corruption, unemployment, and the bad performance of the administration.

Prior to the state assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be visiting the state to speak at significant rallies. On October 13, PM Modi will speak at a rally in Chamba, while on October 14, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be in Solan.
Although this will be the first event for the Congress in the state, PM Modi has already spoken at two BJP rallies in Mandi and Bilaspur. The PM also went to the renowned Kullu Dusshera Rath Yatra. While the Congress hopes to once again form a government in the state, PM Modi wants to complete “Mission Repeat” by securing another five-year term for the BJP.
