Karnataka govt to review land allocations to RSS-linked organisations

Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Friday said the Karnataka government will review hundreds of acres of land allotted to the RSS and its affiliated organizations during the BJP rule.

Also the minister also said that some tenders floated by the BJP government have been canceled while others will be considered. Also, Rao said that the functioning of health and family welfare department officials and doctors and ensuring good public health would be discussed in a meeting next week.

The minister said hundreds of acres of government land in the state have been transferred in the name of organizations linked to the RSS and the Sangh Parivar. According to him, the purpose behind such allocation was to help these organizations grow and along with that its ideologies should also evolve.

Further, Minister Rao said that land should not be allotted in this manner. People should be informed about everything. Nothing should be kept secret. People should know. It is not fair to take everything in the same way. That’s why we have to take steps.

When he was asked by the media whether he has taken any step against all this, he said that he cannot do anything now, but the Congress government will definitely do it in future. He said it should be at the government level where the revenue department and the chief minister have to see what has happened and how it has happened. They have to decide after seeing whether it has been done legally and for what price has been allocated because these are all legal matters.

He said that the Congress government canceled some tenders like 108-ambulance tender and dialysis contract. Rao said there are other issues as well, such as the functioning of our departments, officers and doctors, and taking care of public health. He also informed that some policy matters related to his department would be discussed with the experts to improve the existing system to provide quality treatment to the people.
