Maharashtra: Sanjay Raut labels state government as “coward” for not visiting Belagavi

Maharashtra: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut termed the Maharashtra government “coward” for not travelling to Belagavi in Karnataka amid the increasing border dispute between that state and Karnataka.

The state’s boundary dispute with Karnataka will be supervised by Ministers Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai. After the ministers decided against visiting Belagavi on the anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s passing because doing so would have worsened the situation, Raut made his statement.

Coward government in the state

Raut inquired as to whether the leaders who sided with Eknath Shinde to overthrow the Uddhav-led government had succeeded in doing so today by remaining silent. “For this day they removed the Sena government? There is a coward government in the state,” asked Raut.

Stones were thrown at the vehicle that was travelling from Pune to Bengaluru by pro-Kannada protesters. The attack broke and wrecked the vehicle’s front glass, windowpanes, and windowpanes. Raut blamed the violence on the federal government, saying, “The Center is participating in the bloodshed in Belagavi. These strategies aim to make the state weaker. They lack self-confidence,” continued Raut.

There is an attempt to break the unity in the state Raut claims

Raut claimed that the unity of the state is being divided while speaking to media. “I am ready to die for my state. People have sacrificed their lives for the state. This won’t be accepted. There is an attempt to break the unity in the state,” he claimed.

“We respect the country and its constitution. We are only talking about rights. Karnataka should pay for the losses our state has suffered. The matter is in the Supreme Court. There is no need for violence. People of both states are affected due to the border dispute”, Sanjay Raut asserted.
