On Birth Anniversary Of Ram Vilas Paswan : PM Narendra Modi pays tribute

After the death of Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder of Lok Janshakti Party and one of the biggest Dalit leaders of the country, on his first birth anniversary, many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have paid tribute to him. The Prime Minister wrote on Twitter that – Today is the birth anniversary of my friend Late Ram Vilas Paswan. I deeply regret his absence. He was an experienced politician and administrator of India. His efforts for the common people and the underprivileged will always be remembered.

Paswan, who was a minister in the Modi-led government, died in October last year. He was one of the most experienced parliamentarians and served as a minister in governments ranging from socialist groups to the Congress and the BJP.

Modi tweeted, “Today is the birth anniversary of my friend late Ram Vilas Paswan ji. Today he is sorely missed. He was one of the most experienced parliamentarians and administrators of India. His contribution to public service and empowerment of the underprivileged will always be remembered.”

It is noteworthy that after the death of Paswan, factionalism has started within his party. Both his son Chirag Paswan and brother Pashupati Kumar Paras are claiming Paswan’s political legacy. Chirag is about to start his journey from his father’s traditional Lok Sabha seat, Hajipur, to mobilize party supporters in his favor.
