PM Modi at Rajghat on Gandhi’s death anniversary, paid tribute at Samadhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Delhi’s Rajghat on the occasion of the 74th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Here the PM paid tribute to Gandhi at his Samadhi. During this, President Ram Nath Kovind also reached Rajghat and remembered Bapu.

Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is our collective effort to make his ideal thoughts more popular. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead by Nathuram Godse. The death anniversary of the Father of the Nation is celebrated as Martyr’s Day.

PM Modi tweeted that ‘Remembering Bapu on his death anniversary. It is our collective effort to make his ideal thoughts more popular. His service and bravery will always be remembered.’

President Ram Nath Kovind also reached Rajghat on this occasion. He also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.

Mahatma Gandhi was at Birla House in Delhi on 30 January 1948. During this, he came out after meeting with Sardar Patel. At around 5.15 pm Gandhiji had left for prayer. Gandhiji was accompanied by Abha and Manu. Then suddenly Nathuram Godse came in front of Gandhiji. Nathuram Godse first said hello to Mahatma Gandhi. After this Nathuram Godse shot 3 bullets at Gandhiji.
