Raghav Chadha’s Suspension Revoked by Rajya Sabha Chairman

Raghav Chaddha

In a significant development, the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha has canceled the suspension of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. The motion for the reinstatement of Raghav Chadha was presented by BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao, and it received approval from Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. Raghav Chadha had been suspended on August 11, and the decision to revoke the suspension comes after 115 days.

Allegations and Background:
Raghav Chadha faced allegations of including the names of five Rajya Sabha MPs in a select committee without obtaining their consent. The Rajya Sabha Privileges Committee discussed the suspension case, where five MPs claimed that their names were added to the proposal without their approval. The allegations involved not seeking consent before incorporating their names in the select committee related to the Delhi Services Bill. Opposition to this proposal came from three BJP MPs, one from BJD, and an AIADMK MP.

Raghav Chadha’s Response:
Expressing his happiness after the revocation of suspension, Raghav Chadha thanked the Supreme Court and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. He highlighted the support received from people through calls, messages, emails, and meetings, emphasizing that their encouragement and prayers gave him the strength to fight against the allegations. Raghav Chadha concluded by expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and encouragement and urged for continued prayers for strength and resilience in the face of challenges.
