Rahul Gandhi denied exemption from court appearance in defamation case

In the ‘Modi surname’ case, Rahul Gandhi’s difficulties are increasing continuously. Meanwhile, the Congress leader has suffered another major setback. Jharkhand’s MP-MLA court has rejected his petition, in which exemption from personal appearance was demanded. After getting a shock from the Surat court, Rahul Gandhi has also got a shock from the Jharkhand court.

After the petition is rejected, now he will have to appear in the MP-MLA court of Jharkhand. Advocate Pradeep Modi had filed a case against Rahul Gandhi in 2019. He had said that many people with the surname ‘Modi’ were hurt by that statement of the Congress leader. Three cases are registered against Rahul Gandhi in Jharkhand regarding this matter.

3 Cases against Rahul in Jharkhand

The first case against Rahul Gandhi regarding the ‘Modi surname’ case is registered in Chaibasa while two cases are pending in Ranchi. Rahul Gandhi has already got a blow from the Surat court. The court sentenced him to two years. After this, Rahul Gandhi lost his Lok Sabha membership.

Pradeep Modi had filed the case

In 2019, lawyer Pradeep Modi had filed a case against Rahul Gandhi in Ranchi regarding the Modi surname case. The Congress leader had made a wrong statement against the Modi surname during a rally in Kolar, Karnataka earlier this year. He had said that why are all thieves with the surname Modi?

During this, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned the names of Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi and Narendra Modi.
