West Bengal BJP leader Rajib Banerjee joins TMC at party’s general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s public meeting in Tripura.
Even before Rajib many MLAs and MPs have left the BJP and joined TMC. Recently, former Union Minister Babul Supriyo left the BJP and joined Mamta Banerjee’s party TMC.
Banerjee, who was earlier a minister in Mamata Banerjee government, was inducted in the national executive committee of the BJP earlier this month.
“I realised that I cannot accept the politics of hatred and divisive ideology propagated by BJP. I cannot accept the anti-people policies of the BJP,” he said.
Banerjee said he is sorry for his decision to join BJP and added, “I will work under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee”.
Five sitting BJP MLAs who had quit Trinamool have already returned to the mothership.
