Rebellion in Punjab Congress: Legislature party meeting today after 40 MLAs open front against Captain

The rebellion in Punjab Congress is not taking its name to stop. The dispute between Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh seems to be deepening. The effect of the rebellion of the Sidhu camp against the Captain is visible in Punjab. After 40 MLAs wrote a letter against the Captain, a meeting of the Legislature Party is to be held today on Saturday. Congress Legislature Party meeting will be held at 5 pm today at Punjab Congress Bhawan, Sector 15, Chandigarh.

About 40 MLAs of Sidhu camp had written a letter to the high command under the leadership of cabinet minister Tript Rajendra Singh Bajwa requesting to convene a meeting of Congress Legislature Party at the earliest. This is the group which is angry with the Captain that because of supporting Sidhu, their favorite officers have been changed in their areas and they are not listened to in the government. All these things were written by these MLAs in the letter and expressing their dissatisfaction with the Captain, appealed to Sonia Gandhi to convene a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party led by two central observers at the earliest.

Giving information about this, Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat had said that a “large number” of requests were made for the legislature party meeting to be held on Saturday evening. Harish Rawat, along with Ajay Maken and Harish Chaudhary will reach Chandigarh this evening. The interim president of the party, Sonia Gandhi, has appointed Maken and Choudhary as observers.

Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has also called his MLAs for the meeting as soon as he came to know about the meeting of the legislature party. It is believed that the meeting of the legislature party is about the 18-point formula of the Congress High Command. However, seeing the rebel MLAs, it is clear that there is a preparation to bring a no-confidence motion against Captain.
