Vasundhara Raje’s Absence Raises Questions as Rajasthan BJP Unveils 2 Election Panels

BJP

BJP: Vasundhara Raje, a former chief minister of Rajasthan who now works for the Congress, was not named to either of the two important electoral committees that the BJP revealed on Thursday. Later, the party conducted a recruitment drive in Jaipur and convened a meeting of the core committee, but Raje was absent from both occasions. She is the only member of the two committees; the others are former state president and deputy opposition leader Satish Poonia, opposition leader Rajendra Rathore, and Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The chairman of the election management committee, Narayan Panchariya, is a former member of parliament. The Pradesh Sankalp Patra (manifesto) Committee, which would oversee the electoral manifesto, will be led by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Leaders and Roles Revealed in Rajasthan BJP’s Electoral Strategy

The chairman of the election management committee, Narayan Panchariya, is a former member of parliament. The Pradesh Sankalp Patra (manifesto) Committee, which would oversee the electoral manifesto, will be led by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. Before the year-end assembly elections, the party is anticipated to reveal a third panel for the state: an election campaign committee. Raje would run for office, according to BJP state in-charge Arun Singh, when questioned about her exclusion from the polling panels. “She is the national vice president of the party. She has a big role to play. She has been the chief minister of the state twice. She will campaign in the election. We all respect her,” he told reporters. He said that the election administration committee has skilled managers to oversee daily poll-related operations. The electoral manifesto committee, according to Singh, has representation from all societal groups, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, allowing for the inclusion of these groups’ aspirations in the manifesto. Pralhad Joshi, a union minister in charge of the state elections for the BJP, indicated that the party’s national and state leaders will both run for office in the important elections. Around September, the party will conduct four “Parivartan Yatras” around the state, according to Arun Singh. They’ll be headed by several leaders. “Our strategy is ready. I have full confidence that people will give the mandate to the BJP and we will get a historic victory,” he said.

Rajasthan BJP Affirms Participation of State and National Leaders in Election Campaign

When questioned about Vasundhara Raje‘s role, Joshi responded that both the state and national leaders would participate in the election campaign as needed. “Where a state-level leader will be required, a state-level leader will campaign and where there is a need for a central leader, a central leader will do campaigning,” he said. The party started a membership drive at Khandelwal Sabha Bhawan in Jaipur’s Vaishali Nagar after the committees were announced. Among the leaders taking part in the push were Pralhad Joshi, Arun Singh, C P Joshi, Union ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Kailash Chaudhary, national secretary Alka Gurjar, and others. The BJP core committee later had a meeting in the state headquarters of the party to examine organisational and election-related issues. Pralhad Joshi, Arun Singh, C P Joshi, Rajendra Rathore, Satish Poonia, Kailash Chaudhary, and a few other people were present during the meeting. Raje wasn’t there, though, for the meeting.
