Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the Samajwadi Party (SP) of spreading false propaganda about the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025. He stated that the SP is misleading the public by playing with the faith of the people, which ultimately hurts their sentiments, while millions participate in the holy event. CM Yogi’s statements came during his visit to Milkipur to campaign for the Assembly bye-elections set for February 5, 2025.
CM Yogi Adityanath strongly criticised the Samajwadi Party for allegedly spreading false claims regarding the Maha Kumbh 2025.

He said, "The President of the Samajwadi Party is spreading false propaganda every day." According to Yogi, this is an attack on the faith of the nation, especially considering the spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh. He also mentioned that the SP had opposed major cultural and religious events in the past, including the enthronement of Ram Lalla in January 2024.
Yogi Adityanath pointed out the Samajwadi Party’s opposition to key developmental initiatives and cultural heritage projects. These include the naming of the Ayodhya International Airport after Maharishi Valmiki, the development of Rajapur (birthplace of Sant Tulsidas), and the beautification of Maharaja Bijli Pasi's fort in Lucknow. CM Yogi emphasised how the SP has consistently opposed important figures in Indian history, such as Babasaheb Ambedkar and Ram Lalla, showing a lack of respect for India's rich cultural heritage.
The Chief Minister urged people to reject those who support controversial figures like Moin Khan, accused of serious crimes, and stressed that such individuals endanger the safety of women. He highlighted that the Maha Kumbh 2025 promotes unity, with millions of devotees participating in the sacred event. Yogi also reminded the public of the progress in Ayodhya under the current government, contrasting it with the previous administration's neglect.
