5G spectrum auction has been completed in India and people are waiting for the launch of 5G services. Soon this wait may be over. Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has released a new update regarding 5G. He has urged the telecom service providers to start preparing for the 5G launch.
He said that the spectrum assignment letter has been issued. Airtel had already indicated to start 5G service by the end of this month. Telecom companies have paid EMD for 5G spectrum allocation.
Airtel, Jio, Vi deposited the installment
Bharti Airtel on Wednesday paid a four-year installment of Rs 8312 crore to the Department of Telecom. At the same time, Jio has paid Rs 7864 crore. Vodafone Idea has given an installment of Rs 1679 crore and Adani Data Networks has given an installment of Rs 18 crore.
The company had recently informed that it will start its 5G service in this month. The company had bid in the spectrum auction on frequencies of 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz.
Talking about Jio, the company had bid on frequencies of 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz. Jio has been the biggest player in the spectrum auction. The company has placed a bid of Rs 88,078 crore.
Recently, Jio had informed that they have completed the planning of 5G network in 1000 cities. The company had informed after the spectrum auction that they can start 5G service with the elixir of freedom. That is, soon we can get information about 5G service and its plans.
How much will be the plan?
Vodafone Idea, Vi did not give information about the launch date of 5G service, but made a big disclosure on the plans. The company had clearly said that consumers will have to pay a premium price for 5G service. Since the company has spent a lot of money in spectrum auction.
The Department of Telecommunications says that with the introduction of services based on 5G spectrum, the speed will be 10 times faster than 4G. Not only the downloading speed but the spectrum efficiency will also increase by almost three times.
