Punjab: ISI-Backed Drone-Based KTF Terror Module Busted

Rupnagar Police in Punjab has arrested two operatives of ISI backed terror module. Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that both the henchmen are residents of Chamkaur Sahib area. Both of them were in contact with the gangster sitting in Canada.

The DGP said that this terror module is being operated by Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, who is close to Canada-based chief of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The arrested people have been identified as Visa Singh alias Gagan alias Gaggu, resident of Chand Nawa village in Moga and Ranjodh Singh alias Jyoti, resident of Ganji Gulab Singh Wala, Moga village. Police have recovered .22 bore revolver and .32 bore pistol and 21 live cartridges from them.

An AK-47 assault rifle along with two magjit and 60 live cartridges was recovered by the Firozpur police from paddy fields near the village of Firozpur four days ago. After this investigation was done, it was found that on the instructions of gangster Arsh Dala, this consignment of weapons was dropped in the fields by drone. These weapons were to be picked up by Visa Singh and Ranjodh Singh.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that after the weapons were recovered from Ferozepur, an intelligence operation was launched across the state to nab the accused. After this, on receiving intelligence input, Rupnagar police arrested both the accused from Chamkaur Sahib area on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

He said that the arrested accused have admitted that they had gone to the village to collect the consignment of these weapons on the instructions of terrorist Arsh Dala, but the weapons were not found there. The weapons were recovered by the Ferozepur police after the information of the owner of the farm.

The DGP said that both the accused told that the consignment of weapons was sent by drone on the instructions of Canada-based gangster Arsh Dala. These weapons were to be used to disturb communal harmony and carry out major crimes.

Rupnagar Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Garg said that the investigation is on and more arrests are expected soon.

Canada-based Arsh Dala, a native of Dala village in Moga, is a notorious gangster involved in various criminal activities from Punjab as well as abroad. He is most wanted by Punjab Police. Arsh was also involved in many incidents of murder in the border state of Punjab. Apart from this, his name also cropped up in the case of bringing RDX, IED, AK-47 and other arms and ammunition from Pakistan.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the process to extradite Arsh Dala from Canada is on and he will be brought to India soon. A Red Corner Notice has been issued against Arsh Dala in May 2022.
