Radha Ashtami 2021: The holy fast of Radha Ashtami today, special for getting children and long life of the husband

According to the belief, Radha Rani, the beloved of Lord Shri Krishna, was born on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Devotees are celebrating Radha Ashtami today, 15 days after Krishna Janmashtami. Radha was born on this day, so it is celebrated as Radha Ashtami. In Barsana, the birth anniversary of Radha Rani is celebrated with great pomp because Radha belonged to Barsana. A fast is observed on this day for the attainment of children and the long life of the husband.

Worship method of Radha Ashtami

Wake up early in the morning and wear clean clothes after taking a bath. After this, install the Kalash in the house of worship. Place a copper vessel on it. Bath the idol of Radha ji with Panchamrit. Now dress Radha Rani in beautiful clothes and jewellery. Place the idol of Radha ji on the pot kept on the Kalash and perform the aarti with incense-lamp. Offer fruits, sweets and prasad made in Bhog to Radha ji. After the puja, fast for the whole day. On the next day of the fast, feed the married women and Brahmins and give dakshina.

Significance of Radha Ashtami

According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Krishna is pleased by observing a fast on this day and all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled. By keeping Radha Ashtami fast, there is never any shortage of money in the house and the grace of God always remains. This fast also has special significance for the long life of the children and husband.
