Rafale Fighter Jet Lands At Ambala Air Base

India's first five Rafale fighters - 3 single-seat and 2 twin-seat - finally lands today. After a 7,000-km flight from France which includes an overnight pit stop in UAE and also midair refueling.

Also the Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft were escorted by two Sukhoi MKIs as they entered the Indian air space.

"Welcome home 'Golden Arrows'. Blue skies always," the Indian Air Force tweeted with a photo of the Rafales in the "Arrow formation".


Dubbed as "game-changers" by the Indian Air Force, the fighters have touched down in Ambala in the middle of the ongoing military confrontation with China which could stretch to the winter, or even beyond.


"This aircraft has very good flying performance and its weapons, radar and other sensors and Electronic Warfare capabilities are amongst the best in the world. Its arrival in India will make the IAF much stronger to deter any threat that may be posed on our country," Singh tweeted.

A security blanket has been Spreaded around the air force station by the police, as IAF request to prevent any photography and videography of the arrival of the aircraft.

Further, Section 144 has also been imposed in four villages close to the Ambala airbase.
