Republic Day 2023: Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, others wish countrymen on January 26

Republic Day 2023: On January 26, the proud Indian citizens celebrate Republic Day in grand style and with great enthusiasm. On Thursday, the nation will celebrate its 74th Republic Day. On January 26, 1950, the Indian Constitution was adopted, and this day honours that accomplishment. India was freed from British rule in 1947, but the Constitution of India didn’t take force until January 26, 1950. Following this, India declared itself a republic and got independence. On the Kartavya Path in New Delhi, there’ll be a big celebration this year.

On the celebratory occasion, political leaders took their social media to extend heartfelt wishes.

Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu took to Twitter and wrote, “My greetings to all fellow-citizens on the occasion of India’s 74th Republic Day”. On this historic day, let us recall the sacrifices of countless eminent & lesser-known freedom fighters & strive to build an India of their dreams, he added.

President Droupadi Murmu said in her address on the eve of Republic Day that India’s success as a democratic republic was due to the fact that the country’s many religions and languages had not led it to be divided but rather had brought it together.

“That essence was at the heart of the Constitution, which has withstood the test of time,” she said.

Draupadi Murmu in her first address as president ahead of the 74th Republic Day, said that those who shaped the modern Indian mind had welcomed progressive ideas from abroad and from all directions, “following the Vedic advice, ‘Let noble thoughts come to us from all directions’”. “A long and profound thought process culminated in our Constitution,” she added.
