Spiritual Super Trains Introduced by Indian Railways: Magh Mela Facilities Go Next Level! Will Devotees Ditch Road Travel?

Indian Railways: Indian Railways has also introduced a series of special trains to accommodate the expected surge of devotees during Magh Mela 2026.

Indian Railways: Railways has formulated extensive and coordinated arrangements in view of the massive influx of pilgrims from all parts of the country during Magh Mela 2026.

Special Trains

Indian Railways has also introduced a series of special trains to accommodate the expected surge in the count of devotees from all parts of India.

These include 11061/11062 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Jaynagar Pawan Express, 14005/14006 Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Lichchavi Express, 20933 Udhna-Danapur Express, 12561/12562 Jaynagar-New Delhi Swatantrata Senani Express and 11033 Pune-Darbhanga Express. Others include 15268 Lokmanya Tilak-Raxaul Antyodaya Express and 15559/15560 Darbhanga-Ahmedabad Antyodaya Express. Moreover, 46 non-stop trains will halt at Prayagraj Junction stations and six pairs of special trains via Varanasi route.

What’s Special About This Indian Railways News For Magh Mela?

The announcement means that Indian Railways will make special arrangements for Magh Mela duration at major Prayagraj region stations including Prayagraj Chheoki, Naini, Prayagraj Junction and Subedarganj to ensure smooth and safe travel for devotees.

Amit Kumar Singh, public relations officer, Prayagraj Division, North Central Railway, all concerned railway stations have been specially strengthened to accommodate rush of devotees during Magh Mela. This would help focusing on passenger safety, enhanced facilities and crowd management.

Separate exit and entry points would be created at the railway stations to prevent congestion and regulate smooth movement.

On major bathing days, a one-way movement plan would stay in force from one day before to two days after Magh Mela to ensure an uninterrupted flow of passengers.

Civil Defence personnel, Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and volunteers from Bharat Scouts and Guides would be deployed for additional layers of security. Digital ticketing services and mobile ticketing units have been enabled for seamless travel of devotees.

A toll-free helpline number (1800 4199 139) and a direction-wise colour-coding system have been put in place. Special arrangements have also been made for women, person with disabilities and senior citizens including helpdesks, battery-operated vehicles and wheelchairs. Additional toilets, medical aid centers and drinking water counters would also be made available.
