When the temperature goes down in winter, thrombosis or blood thickening or clotting starts, which give rise to heart attacks or brain strokes. So, you need to be very careful about foods causing blood thickening. What Should You Eat And What Should You Avoid In Winter?

You should avoid eating highly protein rich foods obtained from animals, such as meat, chicken, eggs, etc. In the same way, avoid eating excess amount of dry fruits. Most people think that these foods keep their bodies warm during winter. Although they do, but high intake of protein thickens the blood, which increases the risk of heart attacks and brain strokes. Instead, you should depend on fruits and salads. Although they appear to be cold, they do not cause thrombosis. As a result, you have least chances of heart attacks or brain strokes in winter.

Do not bath with hot water. Instead, bath with fresh water coming out of tap in your bathroom. Before taking bath, rub the dried towel on your body for some time, as it will open the pores of your skin. Apart from this, you should do some exercises to prevent your blood from thickening. For this, do ‘Peet therapy’ which involves beating yourself with your hands all over body including your head for half an hour. This will generate enough heat in your body to keep you warm in winter. You can also do some breathing exercises including Pranayama.
