Anurag Dhanda Flags Negligence After Joyride Accident at Faridabad Mela
Reacting sharply, AAP National Media Incharge Anurag Dhanda expressed deep concern over the incident and termed it a case of “gross negligence.” He said that while prayers are with the injured for their speedy recovery, such accidents at an international-level event raise troubling questions about administrative accountability and safety preparedness.

Dhanda pointed out that the Surajkund Mela was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, making the incident even more serious. He stated that when an event of such scale and visibility witnesses a safety lapse, it reflects poorly on governance and oversight mechanisms. “This shows that the government is overlooking negligence at critical public events,” he said.
The AAP leader demanded strict action against the officers and agencies responsible for safety management at the mela. He added that fixing accountability is essential to prevent such incidents in the future, especially when lakhs of visitors, including families and tourists from across the country and abroad, attend the Surajkund Mela every year.
The incident has once again brought the issue of public safety at fairs and mass gatherings into focus, with opposition leaders calling for an immediate review of safety protocols and infrastructure at the venue.
