Toyota Taisor to launch in India next year, expected to be rebadged Fronx, All details here

Given that the Maruti Fronx is now priced between Rs 7.47 and Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom), the upcoming Toyota Taisor is anticipated to be slightly more expensive.

Toyota Taisor: Early in 2024, Toyota plans to launch its own version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Japanese brand, which had previously abandoned the Urban Cruiser, has returned to the sub-4m segment with the release of the Taisor compact SUV.
It is expected that this upcoming Fronx-based model will be called Taisor, as the carmaker has already registered the name in India.

Toyota Taisor expected powertrain details

A 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged engine and a 1.2-litre normally aspirated Dualjet unit are the anticipated engine options for the upcoming Toyota Taisor, just like Fronx. A 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox can be used to harness the latter’s peak torque of 113 Nm and horsepower of 89.

Alternatively, the turbocharged engine produces a maximum torque of 147 Nm and 99 horsepower. This powertrain’s 6-speed torque converter automated gearbox is the only gearbox used for shifting. Toyota is anticipated to provide the 1.2-litre model in CNG configuration as well.

Expected Features

The dashboard of Toyota‘s future crossover SUV is probably going to look a lot like the Maruti Fronx, with the possible exception of colour and upholstery.

Expect features like a heads-up display, coloured multi-info display, wireless phone charging, cruise control, and automatic climate control, in addition to a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Up to six airbags, an electronic stability programme (ESP), hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and ABS with EBD are all recommended safety features.

Expected launch

According to a new source, Toyota plans to release its forthcoming subcompact crossover in the first quarter of 2024. With the discontinuation of the rebadged Brezza, now known as the Urban Cruiser, last year, Toyota will now make a reappearance in the sub-4 metre SUV/crossover market.
