Union Minister Hardeep Puri received the forms of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from Kabul, said- ‘I got the privilege of serving them’

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has received the three holy forms (Swaroop) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib brought from Kabul. During this, he was seen carrying these forms on his head. The Union Minister said that he has got the immense privilege of serving the forms. It is worth noting that since the occupation of Afghanistan by the Taliban, India has been evacuating the Indians trapped there. During this, hundreds of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs have also been taken out.

The Taliban captured Kabul on 15 August and thus gained control of almost the entire country. The Indian Air Force has operated several rescue flights from Kabul to bring back hundreds of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs stranded in Afghanistan. During this a large number of Indians have been evacuated. On Monday, 46 Afghan Hindus and Sikhs with three versions of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib took off from Kabul for India. These three forms reached New Delhi Airport, where Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri went and received them.

Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted on receiving the forms, saying, ‘I have had the unbroken privilege of being present and serving the three holy forms of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji who came to Delhi from Kabul today on his arrival in IndiaThe Union Minister has also tweeted a video from his Twitter handle, in which he can be seen carrying the holy idols on his head. At the same time, according to an American Sikh body, more than 200 Sikhs have taken refuge in a Kabul Gurudwara and are waiting to be evacuated from the war-torn country.’

Sikh organization United Sikhs said in a statement, “There are more than 260 Afghan nationals, including women and over 50 children, at the Karte Parwan Gurdwara in Kabul. These include three newborns, one of whom was born yesterday. ‘United Sikh’ said, ‘We are talking to the governments of many countries including America, Canada, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Tajikistan, Iran and Britain in this regard. We are also talking to international aid agencies and non-governmental organizations that are trying to help rescue people trapped in Afghanistan.
