UP: Schools & Colleges To Remain Shut Until April 30

Amid the upsurge in the case of Corona, orders have been given to close all schools, colleges, and coaching from class 1 to 12 in the state till April 30 in Uttar Pradesh.

CM Yogi Adityanath has clarified, the pre-scheduled exam will continue. Staff can be called for necessary work in the office. The state government had earlier asked all schools to keep their classes one to eight closed till April 11.

Earlier, it was announced that students of classes 1 to 8 studying in UP government schools would be promoted to the next class without appearing for any exams.

Director General School Education Vijay Kiran Anand issued instructions in this regard to all District Basic Education Officers on Tuesday.

The order also states, new academic session would begin on April 1, 2021. The promoted children will be evaluated and tested for the competencies of the previous class at the end of April.

The annual examination from classes 1 to 8 in the council schools was to be held on March 25 and 26.

Schools and colleges were reopened following guidelines from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) after being shut last year owing to the ongoing pandemic. Amid the surge in cases many states have called to shut down again.

After a review meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister imposed fresh restrictions – capping the number of devotees entering a religious place at a time.

UP Government has decided to impose restrictions on religious gatherings, days before Navratri and Ramzan. Yogi government has decided to prohibit 5 or more persons inside religious place at a time.

Uttar Pradesh recorded 15,353 new Covid-19 cases un last 24 hours.
