Engine details

Two engine options are available for the Taigun: a 1.5-litre engine with 150PS and 250Nm and a 1-litre engine with 115PS and 178Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard with both of these engines. The smaller engine has a six-speed torque converter, while the larger one has a seven-speed DCT, both for automatic choices.

The City's 1.5-litre petrol engine with 121 PS will be used in the Honda Elevate. It can be connected to a CVT or a six-speed manual gearbox. Later on, a hybrid powertrain with 126 PS and a 1.5-litre engine might be available.

Features onboard

The Elevate includes features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, automated climate control, and connected car technology. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, electronic stability control, and ADAS features are among the safety equipment included in the vehicle.

The VW Taigun includes a wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-enabled 10.1-inch infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver's display (only on top-spec models), ambient lighting, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and keyless entry with push-button start. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring, a reverse camera with parking sensors and an electronic stability programme all contribute to passenger safety.

Price in India

The starting price of the Volkswagen Taigun is Rs. 11.62 lakh, while the maximum price is Rs. 19.46 lakh.

 Honda Elevate could be priced from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
