Weather Update: In north and northeast India, substantial rainfall activity is expected, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The department has additionally issued an “Orange alert” for Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow and a “Red alert” for Bihar including Patna due to excessive rains. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow signal for Mumbai because of heavy rain. In Himachal Pradesh, there is a warning of severe winds and lightning according to the IMD’s yellow notice. Over the past two days, Delhiites have been relieved of the heat and made glad by the incessant rain. Delhi is predicted to have significant rain today, which will result in a dip in temperature as per the IMD.

According to IMD, there may likely be isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya. The India Meteorological Department states that there is a very good chance of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in certain areas of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal ,Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Over some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka, the IMD anticipates isolated areas of severe rainfall.
