On the night of August 12, there was a deadly attack on the famous English writer Salman Rushdie. Now the New York State Police has identified the attacker. The 24-year-old assailant is a resident of Fairview. His name is being told as Hadi Matar. At present, the police is investigating the matter in collaboration with the FBI. The reason behind the attack is still not revealed.

After the attack, the condition of Salman Rushdie is critical. Rushdie, 75, has been admitted to a hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. According to their situation, charges will be framed against the attacker.

This novel was also awarded the Booker Prize in 1981. Britain always considered him as its respected citizen.
