AAP leader Anurag Dhanda has criticised the Narendra Modi-led government over reports of disputes surrounding questions and answers in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026.
Dhanda’s remarks came in response to a report by The Hindu stating that at least 27 questions across the General Studies and aptitude papers had come under dispute, with candidates raising concerns about answers provided in the UPSC’s provisional answer key.
Anurag Dhanda Raises Questions Over UPSC Examination
In a social media post, Dhanda alleged that the government had failed to conduct the examination properly and linked the issue to broader political criticism of the government.
He also made allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and referred to the Election Commission in the same post. These political claims were made by Dhanda and were not independently established by the examination-related report cited in his post.
UPSC Conducted Civil Services Prelims on May 24
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on May 24, 2026. UPSC’s official examination page lists the General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II question papers among the documents released for the examination.
The reported objections concern questions and answers in the examination, with candidates questioning some entries in the provisional answer key. The number of disputed questions cited by The Hindu is therefore a matter of reported candidate objections, rather than a finding by UPSC that 27 questions were definitively incorrect.

The controversy has drawn attention among UPSC aspirants because the preliminary examination is a screening stage for the Civil Services Examination. UPSC subsequently conducts the Main Examination for candidates who qualify the preliminary stage.
