AP SSC, Intermediate exams 2021 cancelled

The state's Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh has informed that Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermedia Examination, BIE AP Inter Exams 2021 and AP SSC Exams 2021 have been Cancelled.

This comes after the SC today raised grave concerns over state’s decision to conduct the exams in July. Result would be declared by July 31, as per SC orders.

He said a high-powered committee would be constituted to assess the marks to be awarded to intermediate students.

The apex court issued orders to complete the entire process of examinations including declaration of results by 31 July 2021. The authorities from the Board Of Intermediate Education AP (BIEAP) explained to the government that they cannot conduct the examinations in the stipulated time frame suggested by the Supreme Court.

The apex court said it may also look into the aspect of compensation in case of a fatality like in many other states where Rs 1 crore is given for the death due to Covid-19.

"We are not satisfied with the precautionary measures you will be taking for holding the exams. We are not convinced with the mechanism you have devised. Unless we are satisfied that you are able to conduct the examination without any fatality, we will not allow you to hold the examination, the bench said.
