CBSE Class 10th Maths Exam 2026: Alleging that the Class 10 mathematics board examination was unusually difficult to crack and excessively lengthy, more than 10000 parents and students have signed an online petition. The petition urges the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to adopt moderation or lenient evaluation while providing marks.
CBSE Class 10th Maths Exam 2026-What’s The Petition About?
Hosted on Change.org, the petition claimed that large number of students across different sets of the math paper found it highly challenging to successfully complete it within the stipulated time.
DON'T MISS
Signatories to the petition remarked that a series of questions in the maths paper required extensive calculations, including but not limited to multiple choice questions that are otherwise easy to crack. Many students also alleged that they fail to complete all questions because of time limitations.
The Change.org petition also stated that the mathematics examination paper didn’t reflected the level of pattern of questions that are noticeable in the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbook, Sahodaya exam papers, CBSE sample papers and the board papers of previous years.
It was claimed by the students and parents that these resources are usually relied upon to analyze and interpret the expected difficulty level and format of the examination paper. It was alleged that the perceived deviation from this pattern caused significant confusion that added to anxiety and distress among examinees.
On top of this, the petition alleged that a case-based question surprisingly included concepts that are traditionally aligned with the mathematics syllabus of class 11.
Would CBSE Oblige?
The Central Board of Secondary Education is not known to succumb to such petitions. It often takes actions with an iron fist and mere 10000 people signing an online petition is not likely to influence it to prompt a moderation or lenient evaluation.
