“Corrected” Version of Indian History Will Be Taught to Students from Vasant Panchami, says Dharmendra Pradhan

National Education Policy: According to the National Education Policy (NEP), beginning on January 26 with Vasant Panchami, students all over the nation will be taught the “corrected” version of Indian history, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on Tuesday. Speaking at a programme put on by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and the Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, an organisation affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the minister said that books are being republished with new compositions and that these books will clarify India to the rest of the world.

Books are being re-published with new compositions

He remarked, “Students across the country will be taught a corrected version of Indian history under the National Education Policy from January 26 on the occasion of Vasant Panchami. The NEP will provide us with many opportunities. Mother tongue has been given priority in the NEP. Imparting education without giving priority to the mother tongue is meaningless. We must give a new global perspective to India’s ancient culture and civilisation in the 21st century. Books are being re-published with new compositions. These books will give clarity to the world about India. These books will be available in digital modes also.”

G20, an opportunity to showcase India’s art, culture and civilisation to the world

According to Mr. Pradhan, India has a fantastic opportunity to showcase its history to the rest of the world while holding the G20 presidency. He stated, “We must make G20 a celebration as well as an opportunity to showcase India’s art, culture and civilisation to the world.”  The Gopal Narayan Singh University in Jamuhar, Bihar’s Sasaram district, hosted the event. Numerous academics, including Vice-Chancellor Satyaprakash Bansal of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, attended.
