CTET 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will close on December 18 (11:59 PM).
When Did CTET 2026 Registration Opened?
The CTET registration opened on November 27, 2025. CBSE will conduct the CTET February 2026 exam on February 8, 2026. Interested applicants can visit the CTET website at https://ctet.nic.in/.
Candidates who had made any errors while filing out the application forms can use the correction facility between December 23 to December 26, 2025.
CTET 2026 Eligibility
For candidates who wish to teach classes 1 to 5 (Paper I), a minimum of 50 percent marks in class 12th are required. Candidates must possess a two-year diploma in Elementary Education, a four-year B.El.Ed. or a two-year Diploma in Special Education.
For candidates who wish to teach classes 6 to 8 (Paper II), candidates are required to clear graduation with a Diploma in Elementary Education, or graduation with at least 50 percent marks and a B.Ed. (or equivalent). Candidates with Class 12 with 50 percent marks and a four-year B.El.Ed., B.A./B.Sc.Ed., or B.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. (or equivalent equivalent) may also apply. A B.Ed. in Special Education or graduation with 50 percent marks is also accepted.

- Candidates are required to visit the CTET official website at https://ctet.nic.in/.
- You will then need to click on the “Apply Online” option for the February 2026 exam appearing on the homepage.
- Then, register by filing in your information.
- Upload the required documents and pay the application fee.
- Carefully check all your details before the final form is submitted.
- Download the confirmation page and take a printout.
Remember, the deadline is December 18 (11:59 PM).
