The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar on Monday brought to Twitter to claim that the university has acquired a record 135,462 admission applications, which is a remarkable 22% increase from last year’s figures.
He said, “Clearly students across India have whole-heartedly embraced our transition to the computer-based mode of an entrance exam.”
The rise in JNU applications comes in view of the impact created by the global pandemic known as COVID-19, as the application window was open for a lengthy period of time.
“It is a clear indication that JNU continues to remain highly aspirational university among students fraternity who have wholeheartedly embraced our transition to a computer-based mode of the entrance examination".
Also added, we look forward to welcoming the selected candidates whenever the university reopens depending upon the COVID-19 pandemic," declared VC in a video message.
