NCPCR: On Friday, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) said that regardless of its directions, the private schools in Delhi have not given admission to a few children who belong to the EWS category.
The NCPCR Commission also asked about how many seats remained vacant in the year after the admissions of children against the allotted seats. “The requisite response with mentioned details may kindly be submitted in the Commission within seven days of receipt of this letter,” the NCPCR wrote to the Delhi chief secretary.

The NCPCR has asked for details of EWS admission in private schools from the 2022-21 academic year. These actions have been observed even after the strict supervision given to the officers and branches involved in assurance of admission of children under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), they haven’t been admitted in the schools yet.
“Subsequently, you are requested to provide details of the following for academic years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23: Year-wise vacancy for EWS-DG category candidates, seats allotted against the vacancy, and total number of children admitted against the seats allotted in private schools of Delhi,” it said.
