The National Institutional Ranking Framework’s (NIRF) 7th edition rankings 2022 has released its ranking today on July 15th 2022. The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan released the rankings. The NIRF rankings were announced in a virtual conference which was chaired by Union Education Minister.
The event was streamed live on various social media platforms, chaired by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a detailed NIRF ranking 2022 report is shared on nirfindia.org at 11:00 am.
As per the NIRF rankings The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has been ranked top as the best university in India. The university has been at the first rank ever since the inception of the NIRF ranking. Meanwhile, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Milia Islamia were ranked second and third among the top universities, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022.
Jadavpur University and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are on the fourth and fifth position in the NIRF ranking list. In last year’s NIRF ranking, IISC Bengaluru was ranked the top college followed by JNU and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in second and third rank respectively. Calcutta University and Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham, respectively, were the fourth and fifth-ranked universities.

The rankings are based on 11 bases in total among different educational streams and domains. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) specifies top institutes Overall, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), Law and Research Institutions.
