Punjab News: In a significant development for teachers falling under the ‘exempted category,’ the government is set to open the online transfer portal for these cases every month, providing relief from the previous annual wait. The decision aims to streamline the transfer process for teachers facing health challenges or specific life situations.

Every year, these situations were reviewed in addition to general transfers.

According to the transfer policy that was announced by the government in October of last year, teachers who are disabled, have cancer, either themselves or a dependent, have undergone dialysis, have had a kidney transplant, have sickle cell disease, thalassemia, or hepatitis C fall into the exempt category.

Who all are in group:

In addition, divorced teachers, carers for children with special needs, widows, wives of members of the armed services, etc., are included in this group.

Teachers who are willing to transfer typically have until March to submit an online application through the Education Department’s e-Punjab portal. We do not consider transfer requests that are sent in offline mode.

When the transfer site used to open once a year, teachers who fell under the exempted category were taken into consideration in addition to ordinary requests. They will no longer have to wait a whole year due to this decision, as the portal will now be opened each month.

Minister approved revised decision:

The minister has approved the revised decision, according to sources in the Education Department, and arrangements are currently being finalised for its implementation.

For the instructors who qualify for the exemption, it will be a huge relief. They won’t have to wait a year to receive the desired posts, according to Gulshan Chhabra, the Minister of Education’s Officer on Special Duty. He claimed that the decision had been approved by the minister of education and will shortly be put into effect.
