Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination, 2022 for the first time in 13 regional languages apart from Hindi and English. This information has been given in an official statement released on Friday. The 13 regional languages include Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Konkani, Manipuri (Meitei), Marathi, Oriya and Punjabi, the statement said. This is going to be of great help to the students giving exams in local languages.

One of the largest recruiting agencies of the government, the main objective of SSC is to recruit all Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C (Non-Technical) posts in various Central Ministries/Departments. The medium of examinations conducted by the commission is generally Hindi and English.

Everyone will get equal chance

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said the move is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to provide a level playing field to all job seekers and ensure that no one is denied due to language barrier. Don’t be denied the opportunity. This is likely to benefit a large number of candidates from across the country, he said.

He said that after this historic step, gradually efforts are being made to include all the languages mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Singh said that at the inauguration of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi in November 2022, Prime Minister Modi had said that Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world, but despite this we have not been able to honor it fully.

Emphasis on removing regional disparities

The Union Minister said, Staff Selection Commission is constantly trying to provide equal opportunities to different sections of the country, so that regional disparities can be removed and the ideals of the constitution can be achieved and at the same time the linguistic diversity of our country can be achieved. Diversity can also be celebrated.
