Supreme Court adjourns hearing on UPSC candidate plea to allow extra attempt

The Supreme Court adjourned the plea hearing seeking an extra attempt for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 because of Covid-19 pandemic. The aspirants asked to have extra attempt in view of the pandemic.

This year, a lot of candidates failed to appear for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2020 due to the disturbance caused by Covid-19 pandemic. So candidates were asking an extra attempt for the UPSC Civil Service Prelims 2021.

“Supreme Court adjourns the hearing on a plea filed by a bunch of UPSC aspirants, seeking an extra attempt in the civil services examination for the year 2021, as a one time measure owing to the COVID-19 pandemic,” as stated by ANI.


The bench of judges asked advocate Atul Agarwal, the counsel for the petitioners, to “serve a copy of the petition to the counsel of the Union Public Service Commission.”
